[After the shard was taken out of him on the 9th, Teddy spent a day sleeping off the weariness and did his best to make it up to Billy before focusing on his friends, the ones who also suffered from his behavior. First one: Katniss, because he hadn't been on his best behavior at Prim's party, even though he did his best to not act too out of it.

He's not sure if she's there, so he writes first before he goes outside with the intention of finally enjoying himself without any fear of pain or nervousness.]

Katniss? I'm feeling a lot better now, and I wanted to talk about what happened to me, and apologize. Did you want to have lunch at Seventh Heaven? We can have an early jam session too.

[A private note on the journal is one of the last things she expects to see when she opens it to skim through that morning. Let alone a note from Teddy, one that almost sounds like an apology. She reread the words, feeling a little puzzled. He hadn't necessarily been as social as she normally considered him, but she felt that there was still little for him to apologize for.
