[Luke can understand and relate to it, a bit. So many people here laud him as some great hero, but he had fallen pretty far, and not all that long ago. Byss hadn't been a pleasant chapter in his life, and he still wasn't sure Palpatine's influence had completely left. This was, of course, saying nothing of his father, Mara, Han, Kyle, Kyp, and the countless others he knew who'd put their pasts behind them and grown into...well...the heroes that they were.]

Miss. Effie's suggestion may have been something acceptable in your own world, but as you've obviously seen it's not in so many others. Organized gladiatorial arenas have been outlawed in mine for over a thousand years. I knew Rue when she was here, and she explained some of what these...games were like and I found it jarring to say the least. But I don't look down on Effie for what she suggested, I just can't agree with throwing people into an arena to fight for entertainment.

As for everything else, I would disagree with you. Everyone deserves to be happy and everyone can change. I don't know you, I don't know all the details of your situation, but I know that much. I've seen people who've done far worse than anything you've described change and become positive, driving, and dynamic forces for good. My own father and four of my best friends among them.
